Alongside our new website, we’re also celebrating the recently formed HIRD Group – a new brand identity for all of the companies founded by Michael Hird. The HIRD Group consists of the 5 sub-companies; HIRD Rail Services (HRS), Trough-Tec Systems (TTS), HIRD Rail Development BV (HBV), and TTS which all specialise in solving unique challenges that the industry faces. The HIRD Group combines our decades of experience to showcase the wealth of knowledge each company possesses amongst our clients.
What is TTS?
Trough-Tec Systems (TTS) serves the UK rail, utilities, and power generation industries with the low halogen and UV-resistant Green Trough range of cable management systems, made from 100% recycled household waste. We also provide polymer cable troughs and polymer anti-slip walkways, manufactured from 100% recycled materials, as well as an ever-growing range of accessories.
As the modern world continues to change, we’re passionate about working with our customers to provide high-quality and long-lasting products designed to adapt with their evolving requirements. Our solutions are built to be long-lasting and have a reputation for being the best on the market, reducing the need for frequent repairs and replacement.
As a team, we are incredibly proud of our customer service, and support clients throughout their journey with TTS, from design to installation, as well as after-sales. This close collaboration has been key in providing us insight into future challenges the industries could come up against, so that we can develop products to tackle these changes accordingly.

We have been sustainable since its inception and our primary offering is built on producing goods that reduce the carbon footprint of our serving industries. Our eco-friendly decisions start close to home, with the use of electric vehicles at our locations, and a supply chain based within close proximity to us. All of our products are manufactured with sustainability in mind, with all Green Trough products being made from 100% household waste and designed to provide unrivalled quality and the lowest environmental impact.
